Ladyfest Toronto — What is it?
Ladyfest Toronto is a community-run festival that celebrates femme, queer, and non-binary voices in comedy. Born in Montreal and relaunched in Toronto in 2023, Ladyfest showcases stand-up, sketch, improv, drag, clown, variety, and storytelling. Our goal is to create opportunities, build community, and highlight the hilarious and talented performers who are too often left out of the spotlight. One love, no jerks.
Inaugural Festival Recap
Ladyfest Toronto launched in November 2023 with 12 shows across 6 venues, platforming more than 60 artists. The festival created space for femme, queer, and non-binary comedians and featured stand-up, sketch, improv, drag, clown, variety, and storytelling.
Audiences came out for Ma’am You’re Making a Scene, Powerbottom Girls, Sketchpiercer, Joy Provision Presents, Women of Comedy, Muslim Girls, Lily’s Garden Variety, Infinite Yaass!, That’s Hot, Campfire Cabaret, and more, including a special partnership with Howl and Roar Records and an album recording with Zabrina Douglas.
The atmosphere across all venues was warm, joyful, and inclusive, with audiences eager to laugh in spaces that reflect their experiences. Over four days, Ladyfest brought together emerging voices and established performers, showing the strength and range of Toronto’s comedy community. 🩵⚡One love, no jerks. ⚡🩵
