WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THE 7TH TSC FILM COMPETITION!
We’ve had a blast running the last six competitions, and we are really excited to get the community together for another. In efforts to make this the best one yet, we are moving to a new format.
In past years, we’ve given away $500 grand prizes and other cash prizes. But starting this year, we’re moving to a model that makes this competition feel even more community driven:
80% of submission fees go straight back to artists as prize money.
20% goes toward running the event.
The bigger the community, the bigger the prize pool.
This means every submission directly grows the prize money—and the competition itself. Awards show, Live screening and after party (that’s all one night) will be happening in November 2025.
FAQs
How do you get into the top ten?
At the end of the voting period, the total number of “likes” on the TSC YouTube page will determine which sketches are eligible to win the prize pool. Our panel of judges also has the power to bring up one sketch each. Sooner you submit, better chance to get more likes and get in the top ten!
Can I submit a Sketch Film & Reel?
Please, we hope you do!
Can I submit multiple videos?
No! But we will accept any other video under a different name with a different group of people.
Where is the live screening?
In Novemeber of this year, we will host a live screening at Rivoli in the backroom. There will be a live performance, the prize pool for best reel will be given away, we will give away all the awards including the grand prize for 1st place (45% of the total pot!)
Who are the judges?
Thank you so much for reading this far, we have yet to fill out our full panel of judges, but so far we are so excited to have: Auroa Brown, Tim Blair, House of Cool, and Peter Hill. More to be announced soon.
What if I don’t want to upload my sketch to the TSC community page?
All sketches must be uploaded to be considered for the top ten. We would love to have your work in our massive archive of Canadian created sketch. The TSC community YouTube page is a Not-for-profit page, with any proceeds going back to the producer and this competition prize money. If you wish to remove your video just let us know though IG or shoot us an email at info@torontosketchcomedy.com.
